  • Battle of Lexington and Concord

    These battles were significant because they were both fought on the same day. The British had one main goal, to capture Samuel Adams and John Hancock. Paul Revere and Tanner William Dawes are the main reason that residents of Lexington and concord were able to be warned of the red coats. Roughly ninety skirmish men were killed. These battles were set off by all the new laws, such as the sugar, stamp, and Townsend act.
  • Battle of Fort Ticonderoga

    The colonists captured for Ticonderoga on the morning of may 10, 1775. The militia of the Connecticut colony captured the fort. Benedict Arno,d was the leader of this militia. The colonial militia seized many weapons and supplies from the fort.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    The battle of bunker hill took place in the year 1775. William Prescott led the colonists into battle for this fight. The British had to make four charges to force the colonists to retreat. Each side had mass casualties. There a few famous colonists they died in this battle.
  • Battle of Trenton

    George Washington was already a famous man, he himself was the leader of the colonial soldiers. George Washington crossed the Delaware river during this battle. The colonists won the battle. The win of this battle showed colonists that they could reclaim their land.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    The battle of Saratoga took place in Stillwater New York. The battle of Saratoga was a turning point in the war, the patriots won. American forces were led by Benedict Arnold and Horatio Gates. It was a crucial victory for the patriots which caused it to be a turning point in the war.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Cornwallis surrendered to George Washington as French and American forces trapped and blocked the British in at Yorktown. Lord Charles Cornwallis surrendered to George Washington. France also helped American forces win the battle. The continental army won the battle of Yorktown and it was considered the last major land battle of the American Revolutionary War.
