    End of WWI
    The German chancellor organised representatives to Compiegne, France to discuss an agreement to end the war. The agreement was signed on the 11th of November in the morning and that is why currently on the 11th of November at 11am there is a minute silence held to remember the people that fought and died in the war.
  • Treaty of Versailles

    Treaty of Versailles
    David Lloyd George from Britain, Georges Clemenceau from France and Woodrow Wilson from the USA created the peace settlement which was signed in the Versailles Palace in France on the 28th of June, 1919. Germany had to accept the new map of Europe, limit size of navy and army, accept the blame for the war, pay for some of the damage to other countries and were not allowed to form a union with Austria or militarise Rhineland.
