The Berlin Wall
This was an important moment because Germany had split into two the East and West. The East was turning into communist and want to surround the West to be left with out anything and the United States helped the West because they didnt want comunism to spread. -
Cuban Missile Crisis
This was important because the United States had found out that the Soviet Union was installing Nuclear Missiles in Cuba. They both went on to an agreement where they could pull out the missiles from Cuba and the United States from Turkey. Later on the Leader overthrew the leader from the Soviet Union so he wanted to use the nuclear weapon on America but it never happened because America didnt permit it to happen. -
March in Washington DC
This was the day Martin Luther King made the "I have a dream" speech. This speech was made towards the Civil Rights Movement to promote equality between black and whites. This message was sent out to all the racist people so that everyone could become brothers and sisters. -

This event was important because many had thought it President Kennedy would have not been assasined he would have done great things after what he had done. This was also important because he set America to have great goals. -
LBJ declares war on poverty
After about a mount Lyndom B. Johnson was declared president he decided to declare war on poverty which wasnt a great idea but the reason why he did this was because he was aiming toward increasing support for education and to reduce pverty. -
Creaion of Medicare and Medicaid
President LBJ made a health program for the elderly it provided help through welare.Later on it ended up being for low-income people. This is important because until this day Medicare still exist today. -
Voting Act Rights of 1965
This was important during the time because President LBJ signed the voting right act. Tis abolished descrimination to Afican Americans because of the way they were being treated before, many people were racist but this made equality for all. -
Higher Education Act
President LBJ signs this act for higher education and for federal founded scholarships. This was a big change because many more studet were going eduation and they got help by gettng scholarships. -
Tet Offensive
This is important because it was during the Vietnamese war because Americans got in the way between the North and South Vietnamese when there was an assult in the south this was all because of communism. -
First Man on the Moon
This was an important event during the 1960's because for the first time in history some one stepped on the moon and it happened to be an American called Neil Armstrong.
