    The American Revolution, was our war for independence.It was our way of standing up for ourselves and creating government of our own. Which is why I believe it is the most important event in our history.

    The ratification of the U.S. Constitution lead to the U.S. prooving to the world that we are united. We overcame our differences and formed a united democracy. The Constitution helped us divde power of the country into three branches so no branch possessed to much power.
  • Eli Whitney invents Cotton Gin

    Eli Whitney invents Cotton Gin
    The Cotton Gin is a machine that revolutionized the production of cotton by greatly speeding up the process of removing seeds from cotton fiber. I believe that inventing this machine lead to more people owning cotton plantions, thus more slaves. I feel the cotton gin is important, but I'm also distrebed by the invention, and what it lead to.

    The Civil War, was a war between the North and the South. The North wanted to abolish slavery, and the South did not, in the end the North won. I feel this war is extremly important because it gave the slaves freedom.

    The panama canal, is an international waterway that allows ships to pass between the Atlantic Ocean and Pacific Ocean. Therefore the canal helped save time by not having to sail all to way around South America. It also saved money by not having to pay as much for shiping. Which is why I feel the creation of the canal is important.

    On this day Orville Wright piloted the first powered airplane 20 feet above a wind-swept beach in North Carolina. The flight lasted 12 seconds and covered 120 feet. The Wright Brothers continued working to find a better way of flying. I chose this event because, it open a new world of flying and lead us to the great mass of air travel we have today.

    The new deal was a series of projects and programs, to help Americans restore their prosperity, during The Great Depression. I chose this event because, it helped America out of a bad time. Also it chaged the goverments relationship with the people.

    On this date hundreds of Japanese fighter planes attacked the American naval base at Pearl Harbor near Honolulu, Hawaii. I believe this date deserves to be remembered as a devastating day. This day lead thousands of amricans into shock and panic, and lead us into world war 2.

    The Civil Right Movement, was a movement that gave African Americans a chance to have the same rights as any other person. I believe this an inportant event, because it gave people a chance to stand up for themselves. It was the first step toward full equality under the law.
  • 9-11

    9-11, is a dated that every American should know about. On this day 19 militants associated with the Islamic extremist group al-Qaeda hijacked four airliners, two of the airlines crashed into the twin towers, another airline was flown into the Pentagon, and the last airline crashed into a field in Pennsylvania. I chose this event because, we lost over 3,000 people, and it lead us into a long war against terrorism..
