    I was born on August 1st, 2001, at 3:09am. It is important because I was born on that day.

    Miners Trapped

    9 miners are trapped in the Alaskan Quecreek mine for 77 hours, before being rescued. It was important as I watched it live and it was a very insirational event to my family.

    It was a major infection throughout the world. It was important to my family as my brother was born smack in the middle of the year, at the peak of the influenza. He was lucky that he did not contract it.

    The Olympics in Athens was a major sporting event, that was known throughout the world. It was the first Olympics I ever witnessed.

    At a magnitide of 8.7, it was Indonesia's second biggest earthquake since 1960. It was the first major disaster I was aware of, and I became scared.
