In antiquity Israel there was only 1 ethnicity, 1 language, and 1 religion. During Antiquity, the ethnicity was Canaanites. In antiquity. The language in antiquity Israel was Hebrew. The religion in antiquity was *Polythetic( belief in more than god). Israel shared its culture with neighboring states. When the Israelites arrived on the island of Caanan they brought with them the first *Monotheism( belief in one god) religion. -
In the early days of Palestine, the Canaanites were in control until around 1500 BCE when Hebrew tribes started moving in. They later had a conflict with the *Philistines( Aegean people) and eventually beat them. After that conflict, the Hebrews created an empire known as Israel. This changed the ethnicity due to the increase of Israelites. The kingdom *Flourished for about 75 years until it was divided into two separate and weaker groups, Israel and Judah. -
After the split of Israel, both of the separated kingdoms fell to stronger empires nearby and then became part of the Christian Roman Empire, changing the religion. The Jews wanted independence from the Roman Empire and freedom of religion. After 70 ad the Romans retaliated against the Jews because of their rebellions and destroyed most of Jerusalem. The religion of the Roman Empire was Christianity and this was forced onto all the countries that were a part of it, changing the religion. -

The Muslims came in by conquest, invading Jerusalem and taking it over. The Arabic language became the dominant language in Palestine at the time. The ethnicities of Muslims as they conquered Palestine. By the 9th century, Islam became the dominant religion there. -

About ¾ of the ethnicities in Israel are Jewish while the other ¼ is made up of Arabs and Christians. The common language which is *endemic( local/native) to the country is Hebrew as most of the population speaks. The most *populous( popular) religion is Judaism followed by Islam, then followed by small groups of other religions.
