  • Green Mountain Boys

    Green Mountain Boys
    led by Ethan Allen and Benedict Arnold the small group of Green Mountain Boys went and snuck into the fort. A small 48 strong British garrison led by Captain DE Laplace guarding the fort and got captured by the Green Mount. Boys they then sent the supplies to Boston. And then they took some other fort called Fort Crown Point. Although it had little military value it had major strategic significances. The Green Mountain boys went on to capture more forts and gave supplies to the colonists.

  • The Battle of Bunker hill

    The Battle of Bunker hill
    It took the British three different tries on that day and finally took the hill. Both sides took heavy losses the British out of 2,400 had 1,150 wounded or killed soldiers. And the colonists had 1,500 militiamen and had 450 men wounded or killed. And most of the colonists died by defended the general who was killed but his name was Joseph Warren against British general William Howe who had a British victory.
  • Battle of Long Island

    Battle of Long Island
    a force of 10,000 colonists lead by George Washington went to Long Island and had Israel Putnam, and William Alexander with him. Against the British force which was 20,000 strong and lead by General Cornwallis and his advisors Sir William Howe, and Sir Henry Clinton. The colonists lost but here is the casualty’s colonist first 300 were killed and 800 wounded and then 1,000 colonists were captured. The British had 64 killed 293 wounded and 31 captured.

    Battle of Saratoga
    there were three generals on each side for the British General Burgoyne, General Howe, and Colonel Barry St. Legar. Burgoyne was supposed to lead his army to New York and meet Howe and Legar there. Well when he got there the others weren’t there just Burgoyne and his men and the German mercenaries. Burgoyne’s men were met by General Gates men. And by the time General Howe and Colonel Barry St. Legar got to the fight Burgoyne’s army was retreating.
  • Swamp Fox

    Swamp Fox
    Francis Marion or the swamp fox started his military career in the French and Indian war. He adopted his tactics from the Native Americans and was very effective against the British in 1780 and 1781. His first command in the revolution was to be the officer of the Williamsburg militia in the Pee Dee area and was to be a scout after the battle of Camden on August 16, 1780 and even though the battle was a British victory he captured 20 British guards and saved 150 Maryland Militia.
  • Battle of Cowpens

    Battle of Cowpens
    the patriots commanded by General Daniel Morgan with a force of 1,912 patriots against a British force of 1,150 commanded by General Banastre Tarleton. The battle was an American victory with 25 Americans killed and 124 wounded. The British casualties were much greater though with 110 killed 200 wounded and 712 captured. General Morgan’s strategy was very unusual to see for the British but very effective.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    Washington's FarewellThe British general Cornwallis thought it would be wise to go the port town called Yorktown. That way he could be supplied by British ships from the harbor. But the French had made a blockade and then the British ships could not reach the harbor to supply Cornwallis. Then the French general Rochambeau met up with General George Washington and his men to face Cornwallis. The British with a much smaller army had 8,980 men lost 309 men and had 326 wounded and 8,007 captured.
