The French and Indian War is also known as the 8 Year War. The reason for this war stemmed from the French attempted to expand their territory into The Ohio Valley and the Brittish were not too happy because they had previously claimed this land.

Before Adams was ected to th United States Senate, he was elected to the Massachussetts legislature. When John Quincy Adams was in the senate, Thomas Jefferson was prsident so Adams was a supporter of the Louisana Purchase.

When John Quincy Adams was elected president in 1824, he became the first son of a president to become the president. "John Quincy Adams won election as the nation's sixth President. In doing so, he became the first non-Virginian to win the presidency since his fathers election thirty years earlier" (Unger 236).

In 1828, John Quincy Adams ran for his second term of presidency against Andrew Jackson. Even though Adams thought he secured the popular vote, Jackson won the electoral vote, ultimately winning him the election. This election caused a lot of tension between parties.

In 1834, Parliament passed an act abolishing slavery in England. In particular, this law prohibited the Atlantic slave trade. On August 1, 1834, an attempt to make all slavery stop throughout the British Empire.

On February 21, 1848, John Quincy Adams, still an active member of the House of Representatives, stood in the house to fight against a bill he didn't believe should be passed and he collapsed to the floor. John Quincy Adams had suffered a stroke. Immediately he was taken to a bed in the Speaker of the Houses' chambers and his wife was called to his bedside.

After John Quincy Adams suffered from a stroke, it wasn't too long before he passed away. The fact that he died while still persuing a career he loved showed his dedication to out country. Accoring to history.com, Adams' final words were, "This is the end of the Earth, but I am content" (history.com).

The Civil War was a war between the Northern and Southern states of America to decide whether the Confederacy would seperate from the States or if the Union would survive. The Union won the war and the Confederacy ended up remaining a part of the United States of America.
