    Child uses symbols to represent objects dut done not reason logically. The child also has the ability to pretend and very much egocentric. Ends at age 6.

    Focused on developing social and intellectual skills. Sexual thoughts are repressed.

  • Piaget's Concrete Operational Development

    The child can think logically and about concrete objects and can thus add and subtract. Also, the child can understand the concept of conservation. Ends at age 12.

    The now adolescent can reason abstractly and think in hypothetical terms. From age 12 through adulthood.
