The Beginning of the Revolutionary War
The war has begun between the Americans and the British -
The first battle of the Revolutionary War
This was the first battle of The Revolutionary War and it took place in Lexington and Concord Massachusetts. The Americans won the battle forcing the British to retreat back to Boston. -
The Battle of Bunker Hill
In the early stages of the revolution, there was a battle called The Battle of Bunker Hill. This Battle took place in Massachusetts. The British were planning to conquer the hills around Boston in order to occupy it. The Americans sent forces before the British in order to secure the hills but it was unsuccessful. With 2,400 soldiers the British defeated the Americans but suffered many casualties. 960 of the original 2.400 were killed in action. -

The Declaration of Independence was written and signed making the 13 colonies the 13 states but there is no government to guide them yet. -
Washington crosses the Delaware
On Christmas day, George Washington crossed the Delaware river. This was the beginning of a surprise attack from the Americans. -
The Battle of Princeton New Jersey
On January 3rd, 1777, George Washington and his men rode the Delaware river to Princeton to attack the British. George Washington and his men pulled out a victory. -
The Battle of Brandywine Pennsylvania
This battle began by the British wanting to take Pennsylvania and then the Americans capitol. The American army was trying to scout out the British army so that they could prepare for the forthcoming battle but they were unsuccessful. The battle broke out but eventually the British forces broke through the Americans right wing forcing George Washington and his army to retreat with the British gaining control of the city. -
British Occupy Philadelphia
The British walked into Philadelphia and to their surprise most of the people there were looking forward to British rule. The British moved into the best houses. They then proceeded to capture two forts so that they could have more supplies. Seriously how was it this easy to get control of Philadelphia? -
The Battle of Germantown
George Washington came up with a plan to attack a 9,000 troop regement. His plan was to move to Germantown doing the traveling at night and then they would catch the British by surprise. At first it was going well and they were able to catch the British off guard and even had them retreating. But then the army lost communication with each other and everything began to fall apart. Because of this Washington was forced to retreat from the mission. -
An Alliance
The U.S. and France made an alliance together to take down Great Britain. This would spawn a conflict between France and Great Britain. -
The Battle of Barren Hill Pennsylvania
This battle was a rather small one compared to the others. The plan for the British was to enclose the Americans cutting off all access routes for retreating. However the Americans were able to escape the trap and proceed forward. With their plan failed the British ran away. -
Spain vs Great Britten
On June 21st, Spain declared war on Great Britain giving the British three enemy's to fight. They also helped by giving supplies to the American soldiers -
The Capturing of Charleston South Carolina
The British has successfully captured Charleston South Carolina. They did this by fighting a six week conflict against Major General Benjamin Lincoln and his soldiers. After these long six weeks, the General gave the British Charleston. -
The Battle of Waxhaw Creek South Carolina
The Battle of Waxhaw Creek was a defeat for the Americans. The British wanted to make the Americans feel like they could not win the war but instead this turned into moral support for the Americans and they believed that they could pull out a victory. -
The Battle of Cowpens South Carolina
This battle is said to be the turning point of the war. The British were scoring many victories in South Carolina (the Battle of Camden, Battle of Charleston, Battle of Cane Creak, etc) and attempted to continue that track. Both the British and the Americans had similar amounts of troops, but in the end, the Americans won the Battle of Cowpens. This gave a huge moral boost to the American soldiers still fighting and they began to believe more that they could win this war. -
The Battle of Guilford Courthouse South Carolina
This battle is said to be the largest battle in the revolutionary war. Prior to the battle the British has conquered Georgia and South Carolina. The British then tried to get North Carolina and were setting up an arsenal to go there when this battle stopped them. With a few strategies from Generals in the war, the British were forced to surrender to George Washington. -
The Siege of Pensacola
This Siege began when the Spanish decided to defend against the British. There were seven thousand Spanish troops ready to demolish the mere three-thousand five hundred troops the British riled up.The Spanish were capturing territories around the British occupied land in order to attack them from all sides. In the end the Spanish won forcing the British out of Pensacola and the Spanish taking control of the city that would last for forty years. -
The Siege of Yorktown
The Siege of Yorktown is when the Americans trapped a major British army in Yorktown and won with a forced surrender. This Siege was said to end all military missions for America. -
The British leave Charleston
The British were leaving the city's that they have occupied in the war as the war is getting closer and closer to it's end -
The Treaty of Paris
The Treaty of Paris was signed in Paris by King George III, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, and John Jay. This treaty ended the war. -
