Timeline for the revolution

  • Battle of Lexington

    The british were comeing to get and arrest Samuel Adams and John Hancock in Lexington but instead they found a army of about 80 men ready for war. They also came to destroy any americans weapons. The americans waere led by captain John Parker.
  • Battle of Concord

    After the americans fled from lexington the british continued on to concord. The americans waited until they had all their minutemen and then they attacked. Eventually after a long battle the british comander retreated.
  • THe battle of Bunker Hill

    This battle was intended the british wanted to boarder the stste and the americans didnt like that idea. THey had been prepareing for days but their were more than 1000 redcoats(british). Eventuallt the outnumbered americans had to retreat because they had no more amo.
  • The abttle of New York

    In this battle the americans were ready and Gerneral George washington marchining marched up from boston. The americans were outnumbered and seperated because the british found a way to seperate them.The british won and sent the rebeles back to boston
  • Battle of Trenton

    The americans were led by George washington. The americans were mad that the british were hireing german soldiers. And the eventually the americans won.
  • The battle of Valley Forge

    Valley Forge was the site of the military camp of the American Continental Army over the winter. The army was short on food, clothing, and supplies. And in the end the british won.
  • Battle for Philadelphia

    Philadelphia was wanted because it had the biggest amout of loyalist. But before they got to philadelphia they had various battles to get there.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    In this battle the gerneral for the british was John Burgoyne. His startegy waws to divide and conquer. But in the end In only four days the americans were surrionding the british and they had to surrender.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    The Americns and the french were fighting against the british.In this battle the british were completly outnumbered. The americans and french won the battle when the british surrendured and this was the battle that ended the revolution.
  • Treaty of Paris

    This treaty was a negotiation between the United States and Great Britain, ended the revolutionary war and recognized American independence. The five repersentatives of the united states that signed this treaty were John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, John Jay, Thomas Jefferson, and Henry Laurens.
