Annie and Jim talk to Frank
Frank comes to their house and they always talk about baseball. Frank shows Annie's dad a video of a minor league baseball pitcher who would be perfect to replace the injured royals pitcher. Jim sees a lot of potential in the kid -
Jim gets the Job
Frank offers Annie's dad a job in Kansis city. He would be coaching Jason Brody and they would have to move to missouri. Dad hesitates because of Annie's mom but Annie knows this is an opportunity he cannot pass up. -
Annie Meets Jason
Annie is sitting in her dads office bored out of her mind and hasn't eaten anything since they left Arizona. She leaves the office and gram who is sleeping on the couch to find food and runs into Brody who is nontheless naked with a towel on. She plays off this whole interview and she tries to get to know him and asks him way to personal questions for a sports illistrated kids edition interview. Her father and frank walk in and questions Annie and they tell Jason who she really is. -
The Move
They arrive in Kasas City and they are welcomed by Savannah who is the Royals publisist and will be making meetings and different things for Jim regarding his job. Annie finds out she will be attending an all-girls private school and she meets Lenny who will eventually become one of her good friends. -
The start of the season
By this time Jason has come to the house and practiced with Jim very much and has seen a lot of Annie not only at her house but he lives in Lenny's guest house so sees him in the neighborhood a lot too. In the first game it means everything for him and Annie's dad. He does great and almost feels like he got his confidence from the talk he had with Annie right before the game. This means that the injured player will be getting the shoulder surgery and Jason would play for the rest of the season -
Annie Falls for Jason
She spends a lot of time with jason, they run together, she helps him study for his GED and he helps her study for spanish. He helps her with running and she helps her dad with coaching. The problem is that Jason is 19 and Annie is 17 and still in high school. Thats not alll, Annie's dad would kill both of them but also Brody was strictly told not to get involved with high school girls. At first Annie sees this cocky ladies man but at the end she sees he has more potential. -
The Relationship flies
Annie and Jason tell each other about how they are feeling and they finally do something about it. It ovbioulsy has to be a secret because of the publicity and Annie's dad. -
Annie's Dad finds out
Annie's dad finds out they are secretly dating and doing things behind his back and he is mad about a lot of things. Not only his he mad cause Jason is his project but he is mad that they both lied about it and went behind his back. It eventually dies down but they still keep it a secret. For a persiod of time they breakup but get back together because they see each other quick often because Jason is always at their hosue for practice.
