The reason this happen was because Missouri wanted to be a state. So if Missouri wanted to be a free state it had to be even out between free states and slave states. This caused an argument between the south and north which could of effected them and made the states in two. This all happens in the year 1820.

    In this event it involves David Wilmont . A lot of things took place in this event on thing was like David wrote a proposal to have a banned on slaves in the Mexican cession.     In 1860 states started to leave the Union starting with Carolina. The 11 states that ended up leaving were mad because they felt as if their rights to the government where being taken away because Lincoln was elected as the 16th president. So the states ended up leaving to rebel against their rights to slavery being taken away from them. But after Carolina left the U.S still had a fort named fort Sumter in the territory. Carolina had the fort and the people of the fort soon started to starve.
