Missouri Compromise
In this event it involves a guy name Henry clay. So the West wanted to expand and disagreements over extension of slavery was taken place.This event took place in Missouri and Maine. The reason this happen was because Missouri wanted to be a state. So if Missouri wanted to be a free state it had to be even out between free states and slave states. This caused an argument between the south and north which could of effected them and made the states in two. This all happens in the year 1820. -

In this event it involves David Wilmont . A lot of things took place in this event on thing was like David wrote a proposal to have a banned on slaves in the Mexican cession. Comprimise of 1850
The Comprimise of 1850 was when five laws where passed. Those five laws where stating that California would be a free state also it would address the issue of Popular Sovernity in Utah and Mexico about the debate about slaves. The Fugitive Slave Act or Fugitive Slave Law was a law passed by the United states in 1850 this was a act by the Southern slave holding states to be able to take free escaped slaves and bring them back to the South to their owners. Southern secession
In 1860 states started to leave the Union starting with Carolina. The 11 states that ended up leaving were mad because they felt as if their rights to the government where being taken away because Lincoln was elected as the 16th president. So the states ended up leaving to rebel against their rights to slavery being taken away from them. But after Carolina left the U.S still had a fort named fort Sumter in the territory. Carolina had the fort and the people of the fort soon started to starve. -

The U.S decided to send a boat full of supplies and food to the fort to hep save them from hunger. But after they send the boat Carolina shot and sank it. Fort Sumpter soon after had to hold up a white flag and surrender to Carolina .
