TIMELINE EXPOSURE TO TRADITIONAL AND NEW MEDIA timeline

A camera that exposes photographic film to light in order to take a picture. The film is a chemical emulsion on a plastic substrate that is sensitive to light.
This is the year when we were born and this is our first exposure to media when our parents takes our first picture.

A cassette deck is a type of tape machine for playing and recording audio cassettes. The consumer electronics industry formerly used the term deck to distinguish them from a tape recorder, the "deck" being part of a stereo component system, while a "tape recorder" was more portable and usually had a self-contained power amplifier (and often speakers).
This is my first exposure to a cassette. My Mother tells me that my grandmother usually handle and plays it when carrying me when I was a baby.

A CD player is an electronic device that plays audio compact discs, which are a digital optical disc data storage format. CD players were first sold to consumers in 1982. CDs typically contain recordings of audio material such as music or audiobooks.
My Mother tells me that she always play Children's song on a CD player when I was a baby.

My Mother used to collect audio compact discs containing children's song which she play before I get asleep when I was a baby.

An instrument with the presence of radio waves to carry information transmitted through space to carry impulses. It is first used as source of entertainment, mostly seen in barrios. Radio systems also need an antenna to convert electric currents into radio waves, and radio waves into an electric current.
This is my first exposure to radio when my Mother used to listen to radios to get news or enjoys music.

An instrument used to present moving images with the presence of sound. It is used to broadcast networks and with a very limited programs. Television is one of the most important inventions of the twentieth century.
This is our first exposure to television and that time we really enjoyed watching television because of the cartoons or movies that we wouldn't want to missed and up until now we are still watching tv to get updated on the happenings.

he Game Boy[a] is an 8-bit handheld game console developed and manufactured by Nintendo. The first handheld in the Game Boy family, it was first released in Japan on April 21, 1989, then North America, three months later, and lastly in Europe, nearly a year after.
I used to take my brother's game boy because I enjoy playing with it when I was a child.

A textbook is a comprehensive compilation of content in a branch of study. Textbooks are produced to meet the needs of educators, usually at educational institutions. Schoolbooks are textbooks and other books used in schools.Today, many textbooks are published in both print format and digital formats
This is my first exposure to textbooks when I started studying. This helps me to learn more in school.

A printed publication (usually issued daily or weekly) consisting of folded stapled sheets and containing news, feature articles, advertisements, and correspondence.
When I started to learn how to read, I also look for my Father's newspaper and I was excited to read news that time even though I cant really understand it clearly.

MPEG-4 Part 14 or MP4 is a digital multimedia container format most commonly used to store video and audio, but it can also be used to store other data such as subtitles and still images.
My sister gave me her mp4 and this is where I started to like musics.

A desktop computer is a personal computer that fits on or under a desk. It has a monitor or another display, keyboard, mouse, and either a horizontal or vertical (tower) form factor. Unlike a laptop, which is portable, a desktop computer is meant to stay at one location.
My Aunt build a computer shop and I learned how to used computers that time and it was so amazing.

A mobile phone is a wireless handheld device that allows users to make and receive calls and to send text messages, among other features. The earliest generation of mobile phones could only make and receive calls. Today’s mobile phones, however, are packed with many additional features, such as web browsers, games, cameras, video players and even navigational systems.
I learn how to use mobile phones especially when we are calling our relatives which is far from us.

A digital camera is a hardware device that takes photographs and stores the image as data on a memory card. Unlike an analog camera, which exposes the chemicals on film to light, a digital camera uses digital optical components to register the intensity and color of light, and converts it into pixel data. Many digital cameras are capable of recording video in addition to taking photos.
That time I was amazed on how they used digital cameras to take pictures.

Facebook is a social networking website where users can post comments, share photographs and post links to news or other interesting content on the web, chat live, and watch short-form video.
We started to create our own accounts on facebook to connect with our friends and families.

YouTube allows users to share their videos online, create their channels and, thus, create their virtual communities united by common interests. YouTube also becomes a tool of the promotion of individuals and ideas because users can use the social media to promote themselves and their ideas.
This is my first exposure to youtube where I watch funny videos that I like.

Laptop (also laptop computer), often called a notebook, is a small, portable personal computer (PC) with a "clamshell" form factor, typically having a thin LCD or LED computer screen mounted on the inside of the upper lid of the clamshell and an alphanumeric keyboard on the inside of the lower lid.
This is where I saw out teachers started to use their laptop when teaching.

Wattpad is an Internet community for readers and writers to publish new user-generated stories in different genres, including classics, general fiction, historical fiction, non-fiction, poetry, fan-fiction, spiritual, humor, and teen fiction. It aims to create social communities around stories for both amateur and established writers.
This is where I started to be interested in reading wattpad stories and dreamed of being a writter too.

A digital single-lens reflex camera (digital SLR or DSLR) is a digital camera that combines the optics and the mechanisms of a single-lens reflex camera with a digital imaging sensor.
When I joined journalism, this is where I encountered DSLR and it is really cool.

Chrome is a free Internet browser officially released by Google on December 11, 2008. Its features include synchronization with Google services and accounts, tabbed browsing, and automatic translation and spell check of web pages.
We used this when we are searching for our home works and browsing through social media sites.

Twitter is an online news and social networking site where people communicate in short messages called tweets. Tweeting is posting short messages for anyone who follows you on Twitter, with the hope that your messages are useful and interesting to someone in your audience. Another description of Twitter and tweeting might be microblogging.
I created my twitter account to follow my favorite idols that time.

Instagram is a free photo and video sharing app available on Apple iOS, Android and Windows Phone. People can upload photos or videos to our service and share them with their followers or with a select group of friends. They can also view, comment and like posts shared by their friends on Instagram. Anyone 13 and older can create an account by registering an email address and selecting a username.
We started to create our own instagram accounts to post and connect with everyone.

A flat-panel display is an electronic viewing technology used to enable people to see content in a range of entertainment, consumer electronics, personal computer, and mobile devices, and many types of medical, transportation and industrial equipment.
My parents bought a new flat screen television and it is good to watch and teachers also used this when they are teaching.

The iPhone is a smartphone made by Apple that combines a computer, iPod, digital camera and cellular phone into one device with a touchscreen interface. The iPhone runs the iOS operating system (OS), and as of 2017, there were 2.2 million apps available for it through the Apple App Store, according to Statista.
This is where my classmates starts to have their own iphones and up until now it was improving and they are releasing more upgraded type of iphones.

Snapchat is both a messaging platform and a social network. It can't be used from the regular web and exists only as a mobile app you can download to your iPhone or Android smartphone.
Many teens loved Snapchat because of the cool photos that they've got here every time when taking their selfies.

Facebook Messenger is an instant messaging feature built into Facebook. Messenger originally launched in 2011 and its success gave rise to a dedicated application and website that emerged in 2014. The application and website is an instant messaging service that connects to the Facebook database and has replaced the in-app Facebook messaging service. It allows Facebook users to connect with each other and send instant messages, emoji, photos, videos, and perform other light tasks.

Edmodo is an educational technology company offering a communication, collaboration, and coaching platform to K-12 schools and teachers. The Edmodo network enables teachers to share content, distribute quizzes, assignments, and manage communication with students, colleagues, and parents.
This is our first exposure to edmodo and it is very useful especially in school.
