    American Declaration of Independance
    The American Declaration of Independance was drafted by Thomas Jefferson, Roger Sherman, Benjamin Frankin, Robert R Livingston and John Adams, it meant that America wasn't sort of owned by the United Kingdom anymore, they were their own country.
  • First Fleet Arrives

    First Fleet Arrives
    Between 1788 and 1850 the English sent over 162,000 convicts to Australia in 806 ships. The first eleven of these ships are today known as the First Fleet and contained the convicts and marines that are now acknowledged as the Founders of Australia.
    The "First Fleet" arrived in Botany Bay, Sydney, New South Whales.

    The French Revolution went from 1787 to 1799 but the climax of it was in 1789, thus the nickname was given "Revolution of 1789".
    The Outbreak was caused by high bread prices and high tax priceses favoured to the rich.

    Gold Discovered near Bathurst
    Edward Hargraves discovered gold near Bathurst, New South Whales, Australia, which triggered a series of gold rushes throughout Australia.
    Prior to this discovery Edward had invented the "cradle" which was used to find gold.

    Eureka Stockade
    The Eureka Stockade came about when the miners, also reffered to as "Diggers", rebbeled because the governernment was charging them for a Miners' licence, which was just a way for the government to tax the Diggers. The Diggers were out numbered by the Police and the war was over in 20 minutes.

    The US Civil War was a war between the "North" and the "South", the war started over The South wanting to be indapendant and wanted to become their own country.
    It Started on the 12th of April 1861 and finished on May 10th 1865, with the North winning.
  • Abraham Lincoln Assassination

    Abraham Lincoln Assassination
    On the evening of April 14, 1865, while attending a special performance of the comedy, "Our American Cousin," President Abraham Lincoln was shot.
    He was comfronted by his assassin John Wilkes Booth holding a pistol and was shot in the head.

    VFA/VFL Started
    The VFA, which became VFL, then AFL, was founded on th 17th of May 1877.
    The senior clubs of the VFA in the Melbourne metropolitan area were Albert Park, Carlton, Hotham, Melbourne and St Kilda, then the regional clubs including Geelong, Barwon and Ballarat also competed. And the junior clubs included Essendon, Hawthorn, Northcote, South Melbourne, Standard, Victoria United, Victorian Railways and Williamstown.

    Australia became an independent nation on 1 January 1901. The British Parliament passed legislation allowing the six Australian colonies: New South Whales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia, to govern in their own right as part of the Commonwealth of Australia.

    Ford Model-T Released
    The Ford Motor company released the worlds first mass production car the "Model-T" on October 1st 1908 and production was ceased on May 27th 1927.
  • Titanic Sank

    Titanic Sank
    At 11.40pm on the night of 14 April 1912, on route to New York and on her first voyage, the RMS Titanic struck the iceberg that would lead to it sinking less than 3 hours later. At around 2.20am on the morning of 15 April, RMS Titanic disappeared beneath the surface of the Atlantic Ocean, a disaster that resulted in the loss of more than 1,500 lives, almost two-thirds of the people on board.

    The First World War began when Britain and Germany went to war in August 1914, Australia's early involment in the war included the naval forces and the miltitary landing at Rabaul on 11 September 1914 and taking possession of German New Guinea at Toma on 17 September 1914. On 30 October 1918 Turkey appealed for peace.
