  • Steam Engine

    James Watt design a steam engine wich is much more efficent than the last one. The steam engine was already invented but it was not efficent enough to be practical in a factory. James Watt's steam engine started the indrustial revoulotion.
  • American War of Independence

    The American War of Independence began as a war against the Kingdom of Great Britain and the 13 colonies. Their were many riots and it was very clear that America wanted to be INdependent. The war was led by Gearge Washington who became the first President of America. The war ended in the 3rd of September 1783 adn America ended up gaining Independence
  • Captain A. Philip lands their first fleet

    Captain Arthur Philip of Britain lands the first Australian fleet at Botany Bay in Sydney. This fleet had eleven ships to it. These ships carried just the convicts, some gaurds and the crew. However most of the fleet's population was made up of convicts.
  • The invention of the Battery

    Allesandro Volta invents the first battery in the world. This was very important as most lights were powered by these battery before there was an electricity distributor. If it wasn't for him the light wouldn't be invented.
  • French Revoulotion

    The French revoulotion was a period between 1789 to 1799, in which the French peasants got angered by how the KIng Louis XVI had a luxourious palace and had too much too eat while the peasants were suffering from malnutrion and starvation. Some had nothing to eat so they had to eat grass,
  • First Light

    Humphry Davies invent the first electric light which is called the arc light. This was powered by Volta's battery. If Volta hadn't invented the battery the electric light would not have been invented.
  • Lord's Cricket Ground

    The Lord's Cricket ground was established in 1814. This allowed cricket to be played here and was founded by Thomas Lord. The establishment of the cricket ground meant that formal matches could be played. This also meant that cricket could be recognized as a sport not a school game althought its orgins go back to the 14th centuary.
  • Ballarat Gold Rushes

    In Australia in 1850, Gold is found near Sorveign Hill at Ballarat.
    These findings trigger a mass rush from Europeans countries such as England, Ireland and Wales to come to Australia. These rushes increases Australian population over the decade.

    In 1901 the Brtish Parliment passed on a legistlation to allow the six britsh colonies of New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania to become one nation and gave the right to these colonies (now one country) to govern itself.
  • Wright Brothers

    The Wright Brother, Orville and Wilbur Wright of the USA made the first plane. However before the Wright brother inventors were trying to make a machine that would fly, most of them thought that a man could flapartifically wings and fly but this was proved wrong when the Wright brothers made their plane which was launched off a railway track and had a propeller instead of flapping the wings.
  • Titanic Sinks

    The RMS Titanic was a massive ship which was owned by White Star LIne, made in the UK. It was so massive that people thought it was unsinkable but in 19912 the Titanic hit a massive icberg kiling at least 1502 people.

  • Invasion of Belgium

    The invasion of Belgium was a significant event in the history of World War I. Germany, on the 4th of August invaded Belgium at an attempt to expand its empire. The war was easily won by Germany as the Belgiun forces surrendered. The Germans committed mass amounts of war crimes.

    In 1915, the 25th of April the Anzac troops which inculded the troops of Australia and New Zealand landed at Gallipoli. They were on the shore off Britain when they were given orders to head for Gallipoli.
