  • John Kay

John Kay invented the flying shuttle n 1733.The flying shuttle was one of the key developments in the industrialization of weaving during the early industrial revolution. One of the advantages was high delivery speeds and you didn’t have to rewind as much. One of the disadvantages were that there was low yarn strength and there was difficulty of keeping spinning conditions constant. Similar wheels are used today.
