John Kay
John Kay patented the flying shuttle in 1733.The flying shuttle was made to make clothes faster.Could pass through threads by hand. A disadvantage was that spinners were often unproductive waiting for sufficient amount of yarn to be finished.We still use them today because now some are automatic. -
James Hargreaves
James Hargreaves created the spinning jenny in 1764.The spinning jenny spins 8 pieces of cotton at a time.Advantage is smooth fabric.A disadvantage is high air consumption.The original one had 8 spindles now they have 120 spindles. -
Richard Arkwright
Richard Arkwright patented the water frame in 1768.The water frame was an easier way to make cotton thread.It could spin 128 threads at a time.Disadvantage was that if their was no water it would work.An advantage was that water is endless so it would work for a while.We still use it because factories were made because of it. -
Samuel Crompton
Samuel Crompton created the spinning mule in 1779.The spinning mule spins textile fibres into yarn.A disadvantage was that the thread was not that strong.A advantage is that making yarn was faster.We use it today because now it spins wool and alpaca. -
James Watt
James Watt patented the steam engine in 1781.Watt's steam engine was always hot.It was designed to remove water from mines.An advantage of the steam engine was that the engine could be located easier.A disadvantage was that it was huge and clumsy. We still use them today because now their are more faster ways to get water outta mines -

Richard Trevithick created the first steam locomotive in 1803.The steam locomotive he created harnessed high-pressured steam.An advantage of the steam locomotive was that transportation was better.A disadvantage was that the cars couldn't hold that many people.We still use it today because now trains are powered by either gas or electricity. -
Robert Fulton
Robert Fulton made the first steamboat in 1807.The steamboat was used to carry supplies and people across water at a faster rate.An advantage was that it could take people from New York to Albany round trip.A disadvantage was that they could only maneuver through a few feet of water.We still use them today because now boats are powered by gasoline. -
George Stephenson
In 1814 George Stephenson patented the steam locomotive.The steam locomotive was powered by water or coal and could go long distances.An advantage of the steam locomotive could get to some places in a matter of hours.A disadvantage was that rides were sometimes uncomfortable.We still use it today because now trains are electric now. -
Henry Bessemer
Henry Bessemer developed the first process for manufacturing steel inexpensively in 1856.The making of steel is removal of impurities from the iron by oxidation with air being blown through the molten iron.An advantage was that buildings were more secure.A disadvantage was that making steel was dangerous.Steel is used today because now buildings are stronger. -

Louis Pasteur made pasteurization on April 20 1862 because of food spoiling.Also he made rabies vaccine.Pasteurization was originally made to prevent wine and beer from souring.It can also prevent food from souring.An advantage was that it killed the microorganisms that was spoiling food.A disadvantage was that it didn't last that long.We still use it today because now it stops diseases, such as typhoid fever, tuberculosis, scarlet fever, polio. -
Thomas Edison
Thomas Edison made the electric light bulb in 1879.The electric light bulb was made to bring light into houses.An advantage was that the house was lit better.A disadvantage was that if the bulb broke no light.It's used today because now we have UAV lights. -
Nikola Tesla
Nikola Tesla made the first remote control in 1898.Tesla remote had several large batteries.An advantage was that it could control boats(sort of).A disadvantage was that it was big and heavy.We use it today because now we have TV remotes and remote controlled toy cars.
