The Epic of Gilgamesh is a poem about a hero who has to take on a great quest to find immortality. The reason why Gilgamesh wanted to achieve this feat is because he and his companion Enkidu did actions that angered the Gods which resulted in Enkidu’s death. The Epic of Gilgamesh relates to power because Gilgamesh chased power, the power he chased was immortality. After losing his companion Enkidu, Gilgamesh associated death with pain and never wanted death to be near him ever again.

The era of Alexander the Great relates to power because Alexander was a powerful figure, and it takes power to accomplish what he did.
