    Christpher Columbus was an explorer in the 1500's from Italy who helped discover. For years he tried to get funding for his voyage from the Italian and Spanish monarchs but was rejected. After the Spanish drove out the Moors, Queen Isabella of Spain reconsidered and agreed to use the royal vault to help finance Columbus's Voyage (after being assured of goods, ex. silks, gold, because he thought he was discovering a seaward path to Asia. After more trips, he died thinking he had reached India.

    Vasco De Gama AKA (swag daddy) was a portugese explorer who under the commision of Manuel king of Portugal established a series of portugese trading ports along the coast of Africa, at the same time underming the muslim traders by killing and burning. He made a final trip after the death of Manuel and died in India.

    Amerigo Vespucci
    In the year 1501, Amerigo Vespucci began to sail under the Portuguese flag. Once he had left Lisbon, it had taken Vespucci about 64 days to get cross the Atlantic Ocean due to the light winds. His ships had followed the South American coast to an area within 400 miles of the southern tip, Tierra del Fuego.
    During this voyage, Vespucci had written two letters to a friend in Europe. He described his voyage and was the first to identify the New World as a continent different from Asia.

In a moment of radical motivation, he burned all the ships to give the soliers more incentive for doing well. Through force and diplomacy he conquered the Aztec civilization. First he came as a guest. Some Aztecs are said to have thought them their god. He ruled for a while through the Emperor. He's a bad person.. he deserves to feel bad.

    Ferdinand Magellan's Voyage Across The World
    Magellan had thought of a plan to sail across the world, and in September 1519, King Charles V gave Magellan his blessing. He left with five ships, but they weren't quite built for the distances he'd be going. They sailed along the coast of South America and along the way, one of the ships had wrecked. It took a month to get through the Strait of Magellan. Magellan had died in the phillipines during a local war. The rest of his crew continued and made it back with only a handful left.

    Francisco Pizarro's Conquest of the New World

    Francisco first started his conquest by actually having to ask for permission from Spain to claim the land. In the fall, he set sail to Cajamarca and made the Inca leader Atahuapla his hostage. Even though the ransom for his life was paid, he was executed in 1533. Afterward, Pizarro conquered Cuzco, which was an important Inca city, and founded the city of Lima, which is the capital of Peru.
