  • Dinner

The family heads to the kitchen to eat dinner. George thinks about how the children make whatever they imagine show up in the nursery. For example "the children thought lions, and there were lions...zebras, and there were zebras. Sun - sun. Death and death." George thinks that you're never too young to think about death.
  • Imagination

George goes into the nursery after dinner. He thinks about the past few times when he discovered Wonderland, Jack the Pumpkinhead of Oz, the Mock Turtle, Aladdin, etc.
  • Out of Order

"George stood on the African grassland alone." He tries to command Aladdin but it doesn't show up. He leaves and tells his wife Lydia that the nursery is not responding. George then realizes that his son Peter programmed the nursery to not respond so that the setting remains in Africa.
  • Rima

George and Lydia confront their children and ask why they keep the nursery setting in Africa. They deny it and lead their parents back to the nursery where the setting is "a green, lovely forest, a lovely river, a purple mountain, high voices singing, and Rima, lovely and mysterious".
  • McClean

George and Lydia hire a psychologist to help their children to stop thinking about Africa.
  • "A Cup of Tea"?

Peter and Wendy are furious when they discover that their parents will shut down the nursery. They tell the parents that they will go pack to move out. Later, they call their parents downstairs. When their parents go looking for them, they go to the nursery and the door slams shut. The children trapped the parents in Africa for the lions to feed on. David McClean comes and sees the children near the nursery doorway. Wendy asks him for a cup of tea.
