    This was a treaty between the United States and France that ended the Quasi-War.

    President Jefferson led the United States to buy 827,000 square miles of land west of the Mississippi for $15million from France.
  • The Embargo Act

    The Embargo Act was passed to stop trade with other nations. The purpose of it was to avoid international conflict.

    The war was caused by the British policy of impressment. It was between the United States and Great Britain. America desired to have more territory and the British attempted to restrict the U.S. trade.

    The Treaty of Ghent was a peace treaty that ended the War of 1812 between the United States and the United Kingdom
  • The Monroe Doctrine

    The Monroe Doctrine was a new policy made that Europeans were not allowed to colonize or interfere with states in North or South America. In regards to the policy, President Monroe said, "Hands off the western hemisphere!"
