    Dred was a slave who sued for freedom he said that scince he lived in an free territory he should be free he lost and the court said Scott was not free based on his residence AA were not considered citizens of the United states and dred Scott was property of his owner
  • Missouri compromise

    The north and south have heated debates over the growth of slavery Henry clay solves the debate by saying Maine is a free state and Arkansas would be a slave state the Missouri compermise was a series of laws that helped maintain the balance between slave states and free states
  • Bleeding Kansas December 14th 1855

    5000 people from proslavery Missouri came to vote for proslavery representatives in Kansas illegally anti slavery started their own government John brown went to avenge his attack by murdering several of the proslavery neighbors
  • Attack on harpers ferry October 16th 1859

    John brown wanted to inspire slaves to fight for their freedom he wanted to capture the arsenal to arm the slaves brown was captured and sentenced to death.
