    Albany Plan Of Union
    It was a plan to place the North American colonies under a more centralized government. Although never carried out, the Albany Plan was the first important proposal to conceive of the colonies as a collective whole united under one government.

    The French and Indian war was a seven year war that had many battles and ultimately ended with the treaty of Paris being signed. With it being signed the British gained Florida and Canada from France.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    It was a boundary marker that prohibited the colonists from settling west of the Appalachian mountains.
    Significance: It stopped the colonists from settling on the native Americans land west of the Appalachian mountains.
  • Sugar Act

    The act put taxes on refined sugar and molasses.
  • Stamp Act

    The stamp act was the first law that was passed that would tax the colonists. The act taxed all paper goods in the colonies. It was passed because the British hoped that it would help compensate for all the money lost in the seven years war.
  • Quartering Act

    The quartering was another one of a series of acts that was passed for the soul purpose of replenishing their money lost in the seven years war. The act required them to provide and pay for the solders and give them shelter.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    The Boston massacre started as a brawl between a few colonists and a British solider. Then one solider said he heard "fire" so a single shot was set off and once one solider fired they all began to fire. The end result would be 5 dead colonists and six wounded.

    The acts main purpose was to bail out the East India Company which was a huge part of the British economy. The act would make them in control of the importation and sale on tea. Then on one night in 1773 they would retaliate to the passing of the act by going on one of the ships and dumping all the tea into the harbor. They did it dressed in native American costumes.

    The acts were passed because of the reports of colonial resistance and the acts were passed to hopefully help the British regain control of the colonists.

    It was group of delegates that met in Philadelphia soon after the start of the revolutionary war.
  • Lexington And Concord

    The battles of Lexington and Concord started the revolutionary war. The British had a number of troops marching towards Concord and Paul Revere and a number of people sounded a alarm that signaled the colonists to mobilize and soon the British would retreat under fire.

    A fort located in northeastern New York that served as a gateway to Canada. At dawn the colonists would attack the sleeping British and it would serve as the first victory for the colonists.

    Battle of Bunker Hill
    Early in the revolutionary war the battle of bunker hill would give the colonists a huge confidence boost. Although the colonists lost the battle, the British would have a tremendous amount of causalities compared to the colonists. Although it is called the battle of bunker hill it was mostly fought on breed's hill.

    British forces were forced to evacuate Boston because they were under attack from cannons from Dorchester heights which over looks the city.

    The battle of Brandywine creek had General Sir William Howe and General Charles Cornwallis launch a full-scale British attack on General George Washington and the Patriot outpost at Brandywine Creek. It was a major loss for the patriots that had them surrender most of their cannons.

    British troops surrendered to the Continental Army and their French allies. This last major land battle of the American Revolution led to negotiations for peace with the British and the signing of the Treaty of Paris in 1783.
