  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    Battle of Bunker Hill
    On June 16th 1775 Patriotic forces began a march towards Bunker hill, but in the darkness they instead were positioned at Breed's hill. In the morning they were fired upon by the British Navy from the harber. As the British troops started marching upon the hill William Prescott gave his famous qoute, "Do not fire until you see the whites of thier eyes," due to low ammunition." After three waves of British troops the hill was taken, however 1,054 of the 2,300 British were dead or wounded.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    Battle of Saratoga
    This "battle" was actually fought as two different conflicts spaced eighteen days apart. After John Burgoyne ,leading the British, had won the first battle suffering heavy losses he decided to strike again, this time leaving in retreat. After being forced back to saratoga Burgoyne conceded and surrendered after ten days. This battle was was one of the great turning points of the war by gaining the French support and funding throughout the rest of the revolution.
  • Battle of Kettle Creek

    Battle of Kettle Creek
    The Patriotic forcs with three-hundred and forty troops diverged while attacking the seven-hundred British at Kettle Creek. While attacking directly the first force was able to wound the British Colonel James Boyd the remaing Loyalists retreated down the creek where they were met by the other part of the Patriot army. While the Patriots suffered nine killed and twenty-three wounded the British were far worse with seventy killed, including Colonal Boyd shortly, after and another seventy captured.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    When general of the British, Lord Charles Cornwallis ordered his troops to march into Yorktown on a penninsula located in the Chesapeak bay the patriots had an idea. While the French navy denied any escape from sea General Geaorge Washington commanded an army of seventeen-thousand to trap the nine-thousand British in Yorktown. After Capturing the last two defensive posts the cannons were turned and fired fo three weeks, until the British finally surrendered. This final victory had ended the war.
