First Battle of Underdogs and Topdogs Part 1
Lexington and Concord were one of the most significant events that occurred during the American Revolution because it was the first time where they physically fought rather than nonviolent, rebellious acts.

Primarily, before this war, all of the protesting acts were boycotting, writing letters, and much more acts that didn’t involve violence. “Don’t fire unless fired upon! But if they mean to have a war, let it begin here,” was said by Captain John Parker to the minutemen on this day. The colonists were ready to attack if the British would.

Before, they used more peaceful methods like boycotting acts. This was the first time they actually used gunpowder and weapons. The reason the British attacked the Americans in the first place was because they had hidden gunpowder. The reason to attack was also because of a weapon and therefore, related to violence. Since the colonists were fighting for ideals and rights, it stuck out.

However, they were determined, not only willing to fight for their rights, but die for them as well. At Lexington, the minutemen waited for the British to attack and eight colonists died for their rights and several of them were wounded. With that result it seemed to the British that it would be an easy battle in which they could slack off. However, the Americans proved them wrong when they didn’t run away from the fire set by the British in Concord. Instead, they fired back against tyranny.

To add on, it should be considered the most important because the colonists proved that they were not incapable and could win the war. The British didn’t consider them as a threat because they were considered to be the “underdogs.” It seemed that the colonists were not the most organized fighters compared to the British since they didn’t have organized lines and European tactics. Plus, the people fighting were mainly ordinary people like farmers so they weren’t trained to fight.

"Refueling" the American Cause : The Surprise Victory Part 1
The battle of Trenton was one of the most important events in the American Revolution because it gave the American cause “fuel” to run on. In 1776, when the American side of the war looked hopeless, many Americans were giving up. The enlistment terms of many soldiers were up, and Washington swallowed defeat after defeat. Many Americans signed Loyalty oaths to Britain, and Washington had almost nothing to continue his war. He had almost no strongholds, soldiers, weapons, food, or other supplies.

Washington knew he had to do something to revive the Americans and their cause. Washington gathered his last troops, and planned an attack on a camp of Hessians. On Christmas, the Hessians were all weary, and in a celebrating mood. Washington crossed the ice cold Delaware River. He surprised the bumbling Hessians. The attack ended with Washington taking 868 prisoners without losing anyone.

To the British, this was nothing. They could get more Hessians from anywhere. To the Americans, this was their first victory. It said that they could stand up against the British in this war. The American cause did not look hopeless so anymore. Before this event, Washington had no soldiers, honor, or chance at winning the war. Now, soldiers swarmed to join, and Washington was a hero. After this battle, the Americans were spirited, and won other small skirmishes. Without it, we would've lost soon

There are three important points that the British agreed to. The first one was that they agreed to leave America alone as independent country. The second one was about the British not being allowed to own land in the colonies. The last main agreement was that in exchange, America gives back the lands originally owned by Britain. These agreements changed history as the official start of the United States of America. The 80,000 British settlers moved out of the States to Canada.
