    Battle of Lexington and Concord
    The battles of Lexington and Concord started the revolution. Britain was hoping to catch Sam Adams and John Handcock. When the British headed to Concord that's when Paul Revere made his famous ride "The redcoats are coming...". The British lost over 174 troops but the colonist only lost 122 troops. The battle over Lexington and Concord was cause over a large cache of weapons and ammunition.

    The battle of Bunker Hill
    The battle of Bunker Hill was fought in June of 1775. The colonist were commanded by William Prescott. The British had to charge three times before the colonists had to retreat. Both sides lost many men. However the British Lost more men then the colonists. During the battle the famous General Warren was killed by the British.

    George Washington led at the battle of Trenton. There is a very famous picture of him and his men crossing the Delaware river. He launched a secret attack on December 26, 1776. This surprise attack led to a American victory. This victory gave the American soldiers hope in there cause it was major victory.

    In April of 1775 colonist took over fort Ticonderoga. A big part of the colonists winning was because of a militia group called the "Green Mountain Boys". This group was lead by Seth Warrener. During this skirmish the colonial army acquired many cannons, bullets, powder and other useful items they would use against the british.

    The first battle of Saratoga was at freeman's farm in New York. The second battle was held at Bemis Heights 18 days later. The battle of Saratoga was such a huge success that the Americans were able to talk the French into helping them. Without the French we might not have won. The Americans were still being led by George Washington. This is considered to be the turning point of the war because if the U.S gaining French as a asset.

    The Battle of Yorktown was by far the most important victory of all without Yorktown we would not have the wonderful country we have today. Yorktown was the battle where General Cornwallis surrendered to General Washington. This is another time that the French Navy was crucial to a American victory. After Britain's lead General Cornwallis surrendered to the american lead General Washington America became the wonderful country it is today.
