This section is mainly about the introduction of the guys in the small greasers group.Pony is the main view of the whole book.He had two brothers :Sodapop and Darry.And this group also consisted of four other people:Dally,a man who had one to cooler,Two-Bit,the oldest and wisest guy in the group,Jhonny,the cake or pet of the gang,Steve,the friend of Soda.They both worked int the gas station.Pony got along well with Soda,however ,he had a bad relationship with Darry. -
The fight in front of the cinema
After Pony went out the cinema,he was jumped by the Socs.He was fought by these Socs.Even one of the socs used knife.But all the guys in the group came to help him and all the socs escaped.Therefore, Pony was saved by the gang. We think this event is dispensible because it's a part of the introduction of the gang.From this fight, we fellow the view of Pony to find how did Pony evaluate his brothers and the guys in his group.He gave his real oppinion of these guys. The meet between the greasers and Socs
This was the first meet between the Socs and greasers.Pony,Jhonny and Two-bit met the boyfriens of Cherry and Marcia.They were finding Cherry and Marcia.Scs the greasers gave provacation to each oher.Finally,Two Socs brought their girlfriends away.This event is the foreshadowing of the later conflict in the park. -
The greasers met two beautiful girls
Ponyboy went to the cinema with Dally and Johnny. And they met two beautiful girl whose name are Cherry and Marcia. Dally treated them very bad. He played jokes on Cherry many times. , These two girls are Scos. Cherry got very angry with Dally.
These two groups were very different in my mind. Greasers were always cynical, Socs were very rich and arrogant, but they all had a kind heart. This part is shown the inchoate contradiction between them in order to foreshadow for the rest of the story. -
The first talk between greasers and socs
Ponyboy took Cherry to buy some food and drinks, they had a nice conversation. Pony told Cherry many things about his brothers and bodies. Cherry also told him that it wasn’t true all of the Socs are bad man.And then they talked about the sunset. Although they were different kinds of peole, they appreciated the same scenery.

The life during when they are in church
When Pony was awake, he found that Johnny was not here. However, Johnny had given Pony a small note that he went out for some food. After some time, Johnny came back with sausage and other kind of food for a week and a Gone with the wind.
In order to escape the want of police, they make a cardinal decision that they cut their hair, the symbol of greasers, with a knife. Not only did Pony cut his long hair, but he bleached it as well. During these days, they read the book, played cards; however, -

Therefore the poem is connected with the theme closely. Writer uses this poem to express the theme. -

When Dally sent pony and Johnny back to the old church. They found that there were a big fire on the church,and some children were stuck in it. Pony rush into the church, Johnny and Dally followed him.After the children were saved, Johnny was hurt badly. He was sent to the hospital immediately.
When Darry arrived at the hospital , he was cried to see Pony again. He regretted for Pony and said that they can't loose him. Then Pony went back home with Darry and Soda.

Pony persuaded himself that Johnny was alive , he lived in somewhere they didn't know. He might stay at home, he might sleep at the old church, he might went somewhere no one know. And Dally saw her as a treasure, he wanted to die after he knew this. Dally could always achieve what he wanted. So it means he killed himself not the policeman. Pony was very tired after these accidents. He had a serious illness. -

After the greasers won the fight, without congratulation, they went to the hospital quickly in order to see Johnny, as his situation was not good. Dally wanted to tell others the news, thereby, he came to the lot and helped greasers beat socs. When they arrived hospital, Johnny was dying. They told them the news that they won the fight and dispelled all the socs in their territory. This event was the culminate plot of the whole story. Johnny’s last words mean that he had a more profound understanding of his life. He realized what the meaningful life of a person is and how he could do with his life. However, he never had chance to achieve his understanding. Therefore he told his understanding to Pony, wishing he could stay gold in his life, for he didn’t want that Pony would feel regretful for what he had done. Finally Pony was taken to the court. He was acquitted of the crime. Pony wanted to live as before, but things are always backfire. My grades was getting worse and worse, teacher was worried about my English grade. If he could write a essay, teacher would give him C. So Pony decided to write their experience. Pony found a letter from Johnny, it was pressed from both side of the book which was Nothing gold can stay. Johnny said many words.

This is the last thing about the outsiders. After Johnny and Dally died, greaser's life must had changed a lot. Johnny went back school, his grade was too low to pass the final exam. He lost his best and nothing could save him from sadness. He went to see a movie as usual, he pretended nothing had changed.
