The Industrial Revolution was the transition to new manufacturing processes that occurred in the period from about 1760 to some time between 1820 and 1840. This transition included going from hand production methods to machines, new chemical manufacturing and iron production processes, improved efficiency of water power, the increasing use of steam power and development of machine tools. -

William Wilberforce was born on 24 August 1759 in Hull, the son of a wealthy merchant. His lifestyle changed completely when he became a biblical Christian, and in 1790 joined a leading group known as the Clapham Sect. In 1834 slavery itself was abolished throughout the British Empire - largely due to the work of William Wilberforce. -

The Panama Canal is a 48 mile ship canal. Panama that connects the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific. It was made so ships can cross the Isthmus of Panama which was good for trade. -
