    Jayavarman II, creates a large Empire.
    King Jayavarman combines smaller states and regions to ceate one large empire. The capital of the Angkor region becomes Cambodia.

    The empire is expanded largely. Small states and regions are unified to create a large empire. This results in a more powerful and growing Khmer Empire.

    The large temple of Angkor Wat is completed and becomes a grand palace and a truely remarkable site. It is surrounded by multiple water systems that flood and help with rice irrigation.

    The Cham Kingdom begins to take over the Khmer and invade its lands in the east.

    King Jayavarman VII defeats and rules out the chams. He then extends the Khmer Empire to its greatest limits. This incorporates modern day Laos, Thailand and Burma.

    King Jayavarman VIII destroys all buddhism faith. This resulting in hinduism becoming the main relegion.

    King Jayavarman VIII makes multiple changes throughout the Empire. Destroying all Buddhist temples and beliefs and replacing with Hinduism.

    The buddhism faith once again blossoms throughout the Khmer, becoming the main relegion.

    During this period, the Angkor is completely abandoned after attacks and decline of society.

    The Thai Army go into battle with the Khmers, weaking their empire along with the ongoing decline.

    During this period, the Thai kings had attacked and defeated the Khmer Kings. This demonstrates the weakness and decline that the Khmer had become.

    The Khmer Empire is repeatedly attacked and is defeated by the Vietnemese. This results in Cambodia's size to be determined and the borders changed.

    Jayavarman II titled as 'Devaraja'
    Devaraja, means God Like- King. With Jayavarman the II titling himself this, he becomes more powerful and gains trust to his people.
