  • Jethro Tull invents the Seed Drill

    Jethro Tull invents the Seed Drill
    Helped start the agricultural revolution. The actual beginning of the Industrial revolution. The seed drill was invented to arrange the seeds in straight lines instead of just walking up and down the rows and throwing them wherever and whenever. The machine was powered by horse instead of bulls. The seed drill would also pull weeds and put the seeds at the exact depth for enough nutrients. In 1788 the seed drill was revolutionized by adding gears to the distribution system.
  • Thomas Newcomen invents the Steam Engine

    Newcomen initially invented the steam engine to pump water out of mines creating a vacuum This is one of the major breakthroughs in industrialization. However, James Watt is more famous compared to Newcomen due to the fact that he later improves it. However, it took Newcomen 10 years to actually successfully make the steam engine.
  • James Hargreaves invents the Spinning Jenny

    The Spinning Jenny increased the production rate of the textile industries. The spinning jenny allowed 80 threads to be pushed at a time. The invention of the spinning jenny sent the Industrial Revolution even further into "Revolution.

    Watt improves the steam engine fourfold and everyone recognizes Watt as the inventor of the actual creator. However, Newcomen started the actual invention.
  • Eli Whitney invents the Cotton Gin

    Whitney invents the cotton gin and revolutionizes the cotton industry. Before the cotton gin, it would take hundreds of men's hours to separate the cottonseed from the raw fibers. This improved economy in the southern states by making profit off of cotton.
  • Henry Bessemer improves production in steel production.

    Bessemer improved the manufacturing of iron. Which made it easier to make steel due to making iron cheaper, which is used in making steel.
  • Alexander Graham Bell. Invents the telephone.

    Graham was a Scottish scientist and inventor. He created the first telephone because his wife was deaf. He initially invented the telephone trying to help those with hearing problems. But he came up with long distance communication instead. Since nobody else actually had a telephone, he invented it as a way to communicate to spirits.

    A chemist who supported the Germ Theory of Disease. He created many vaccines for common and rare diseases. The germ theory of disease states that some infectious diseases are causes by "microorganisms" which attack the body.
  • Thomas Edison invents the Light Bulb

    He improved the first light bulb. The first actual light bulb was invented by Joseph Swan. In order to get away from legal problems, he joined with the actual inventor. Swan did the actual research and Edison just improved it. However, Humphry Davy made the first actual electric light in 1809, but it didn't ast long. Over the years, the light improved and became the light bulb we know today.
