    The Air Jordan 1
    The very first silhouette, the air jordan 1, created by Peter Moore. It was produced in 1984, but released to the public in 1985 for basketball use. It featured an all leather upper with rubber midsole and outsole. It provided basketball players great traction and durability on the court. This sneaker needed many improvements for the future, such as the fit, comfortability, and support.

    The Air Jordan 2
    Due to the success of the Jordan 1, Nike decided to make a second shoe for the new basketball season. Made in Italy, the shoe had a more luxurious feel made from italian leather, an upgrade from the Jordan 1. It also upgraded to full length air which provides better cushion on the court. It also was the first shoe to not have a nike swoosh on it in the jordan line. Many of the shoes after also follow this pattern.
  • The Air Jordan 3

    The Air Jordan 3
    This shoe was the shoe that saved Nike. Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the Air Jordan 3 was the shoe that changed Michael Jordan's mind when he wanted to leave Nike. They feature a new see-able air unit in the heel and also display a new jumpman logo on the tongue. Its design took a new look with "elephant print" along the toe of the shoe. This shoe has said to be one of Michael Jordan's favorites.

    In 1989, Jordan introduced yet another shoe. The shoe was designed again by Tinker Hatfield and was the first shoe to release on a global market. The materials are more durable than the Air Jordan 3, but feature the same cushioning. The have a net webbing on the forefoot which allows more breathability than the previous models.

    The Air Jordan 5 was designed yet again by Tinker Hatfield. This silhouette carried many features from the Air Jordan 4, but the look was totally different. The design was inspired by WW2 fighter jets seen by the "teeth" on the mid-sole.

    Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the Jordan 6 modeled a toe reinforcement. and a brand new heel tab at the back for achilles heel support. This was the last shoe without a Nike Air Logo on the heel.

    The Jordan 7 was one of the most innovative basketball shoes to come out at the time. It featured an full length air unit under the foot bed giving it a surprising amount of comfort. This shoe has been one of the best Jordans for on court use in the lineage.

    The Air Jordan 8 made many advancement to technology. The shoe added a new ankle support system and it also upgraded its traction system. These Jordans also featured two strap on the midfoot for more of a custom fit.
