Charles Babbage created the first computer 'The Difference Machine'. The computer was originally the size of a small wall, complete with many different switches and buttons and metal cuboards. It performed tasks sach as calculating mathematical sums; what it was designed for. -

Apple is one of the most popular technology brands to this day. With many different forms of successful technology like phones, computers, ipods, ipads, laptops, televisions and even watches. Apple is so popular because of its speed, simplicity and overall clever features. The products allow you to download many apps for all different types of subjects and in my opinion is the easiest computing system to use. -
The first Social Networking site
a website called CompuServe was the first ever social networking site. founded in the 1980s in Columbus, Ohio, it proved to be quite popular in America. The website was made to connect someone calling another on the phone to a matched multiplexer. each line terminatedon a single machine at CompuServe's host, so different numbers had to be used to reach different computers. -
WiFi
Wifi is a network that allows devices of this day to access internet- required websites like email, social networking sites and many more. Wifi was invented in 1991. the fist wireless products were under the name WaveLAN, but the fist wifi network machine was invented ny the NCR Cooperation with AT&T cooperation. with the use of WiFi, you do not have to be wired up to anything, as it is wireless. WiFi is also used for business and schoolwork for research, it is extremely popular. -
Netflix
Netflix is a website that delivers the required DVD's to its subscribers, who pay money for the subscription each month. Netflix was founded in 1997 in America in Los Gatos, California. To this day, netflix has other 10,000 subscribers. -
Facebook
10 years ago in 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg, Eduado Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Muskovitz, Chris Hughes. the website was originally limited to just Harvard students, as they were studying at Harvard, then later expanded it to the Boston area. -
Youtube
Youtube was originally founded by former PayPal employees. it is designed so users can watch, upload and share videos. it has been owned by google since 2006. -
Twitter
Twitter was founded in 2006 by Jack Dorsey, Evan Williams, Biz Stone and Noah Glass in San Francisco, California. It allows users to read and send 140- letter messages called 'tweets'. The site quickly gained worldwide popularity and to this day is one of the very biggest social networking sites. -
Instagram
Instagram is a social networking site that allows users to upload, photos and videos, see others and edit and comment on others photos. it is widely popular and was founded four years ago in 2010 by a man named Mike Systrom. the website is developed officially by Facebook. -
How do we find our way these days?
many people use SAT-NAVs (GPS), an Automotive navigation system. It helps people traveling in cares to find their way, directs us to the selected location. the first ever SAT NAV was created by a man called John Smith, and initially was a map on a scroll. Over the years these, of couse have evolved in to computive systems. -
How do humans buy tickets for travel?
most tickets are usually bought on the internet on websites. whether it be for trains, planes, events, concerts etc. you can buy tickets for your journey on the internet. originally, people would have had to buy tickets off each other, shops, or the location in which the event took place at. These days, we can simply go on the computer to organise tickets and have them delivered straight to our door! -
How do we find information about where we are going?
For years now people have been able to arrive at locations, fully prepared for what the are about to experience. this includes thigs such as how we know where we are going, what language they speak there, what hotel we are staying in etc. This is all down to the assistance of the internet; usually if somebody is going somewhere, they will research it, find it's website and even contact it directly. Without all this, we would have to learn from each other and not even know where we were going. -

Jobs in ICT are very popular and essential, because employers in ICT for a business are very important, due to the ICT related work and the fact that ICT is most commonly used and plays an essential part. these job examples include, computer programmers, computer scientists, sales engineers, telecom managers, help dest technitians and many more. To this day, being able to understand ICT is a very good thing,due to all the work related. A business without ICT use is extremely rare. -
working from home using ICT
keeping in touch with your job using modern technology is incredibly useful and popular to this day. the fact that you can work from home via technology means you can simply email your boss or collegues with anything you want to say, and also you can attach documents straight away, without having to go to the work location to tell anyone something. it also means the employer is able to work in a more comfortable environment, their home. this has been going on since the first email in 1971.
