    In 1875 the first computer keyboard was patented by Christopher Sholes, Samuel Soule and Carlos Glidde. Now we call it the Qwerty keyboard or standard keyboard.

    The Colossus was the first electric programmable computer and was developed by Tommy Flowers and first demonstrated in December 1943.

    The Magnavox Odyssey is the world's first commercial home video game consolethat could be connected to a TV. It was first demonstrated in April 1972 and released in August of that year.

    The company was founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen on April 4, 1975. Microsoft is the world's largest software maker and also one of the world's most valuable companies.
  • Apple founded

    The company was founded on April 1, 1976 by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniack and Ronald Wayne. Its products have revolutionized the way we use ICT, especially the iPhone which was launched in January 2007.
  • First handheld games console

    The Microvision was the very first handheld game console that used interchangeable cartridges. It was released by the Milton Bradley Company in November 1979.
  • Mario francise launched

    The Mario franchise has had more than 446 million sales since its launch, making it the best-selling video game franchise of all time.

    In 1991 Kodak released the DCS-100, the first digital SLR; it retailed for a whopping $13,000 and less than 1,000 were sold.

    In 1992 IBM showcased the IBM Simon. The Simon included a calendar, address book, fax modem, calculator, notepad, an email app, and simple games. It also had a completely touchscreen-based interface.

    The first recognizable social network site launched in 1997. SixDegrees.com allowed users to create profiles, list their Friends and, beginning in 1998, surf the Friends lists.

    Twitter was created in March 2006 by Jack Dorsey.

    BBC iPlayer went live on 25 December 2007.
