    U.S. Citizen Eli Whitney invented to Cotton Gin, in Savannah GA after graduating college. It was a specialized machine that advanced the production of cotton by speedily removing cotton seeds. Handpicking the cotton seeds were insufficient and time-consuming, and with the new invention cotton sales went from 3,000 a year to 73,000.
