    French and Indian War

The French and Indian war was mainly started because the British and French were fighting over land. The French saw the British had the colonies in the new world. Allowing for the British to have another point to attack from. So the French wanted colonists in the new world so that if a war broke out their colonists in the new world could stop the British colonist from being sent to war against the French. The British saw this and then started the war and gave the land they won to the colonists.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
The Proclamation of 1763 was put in place my King George III. This act made it that the new world colonist could not cross the Appalachian Mountains saving that area for the Americans Indians. Although that would be a good gesture to the american Indians the colonists did not listen to this act they were to excited to move to the new area. If the colonists would have listened to the act they might have had a great working relationship with the American Indians.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
The sugar act was a act that caused a high tax on sugar. This caused the colonists to start smuggling sugar, George Grenville was in charge of increasing revenue to pay for the French and Indian war. He saw that the colonists where smuggling sugar and though that if he lowered the tax that the colonists would stop smuggling sugar and would instead buy sugar from Britain and so Britain would bring in more money to pay for the French and Indian war.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
The Quartering Act was an act that forced all colonist to allow British soldiers be housed in their homes. It also made them feed all British soldiers in the area. This angered the colonist because that meant that they had to give up there living space and their food to the British soldiers and if they didn't they would be arrested/killed because of it. This angered a lot of colonists.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
The Stamp act put a tax on all paper documents. That includes newspapers, paper, etc. So this was a very costly tax because you couldnt send a letter without having to pay a tax. Or you couldnt write up a contract without a paper tax to write it. This act ended in 1766.
  • Townshend Acts

    Townshend Acts
The townshend acts were started in 1767 imposed a tax on glass, lead, paints, paper and tea imported into the colonies. This angered the colonist because with the already in place acts it makes it so that there is pretty much a tax on everything you can buy. When you think of it they aren't doing a low tax ether they are doing a high tax.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre happened in 1770 on the 5th of March. When a British sergeant ordered some British soldiers to fire onto a crowd that was throwing random things at the British soldiers all but 2 were found guilty of murder. The reason that the colonists were throwing sticks, rocks, and snowballs was because of the Quartering Acts. Shortly after the British government removed all of the previous active acts. This was basically a I'm sorry card.
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act
The Tea act put a high cost on imported tea. This was a main thing that was shipped to the new colonies. This also angered the colonists because they just got all if the taxes removed then probably the most expense tax put on the common drink of tea. Causing places to stop selling tea. Basically making it so that the British was making no money from it.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was a event that caused the British to install the Intolerable Acts. The Colonists dressed up as Indians and threw about 1.8 million dollars of today money into the Boston Harbor. As they did this this was sang. "Rally Mohawks, and bring your axes and tell King George we’ll pay no taxes on his foreign tea" Showing the British that the colonist can unite and become Independent. Making the British put the colonists under stricture rules.
  • Intolerable Acts

    Intolerable Acts
The Intolerable Acts basically reinstalled the Quartering act and installed a act that closed the Boston harbor until the tea that was tossed into the harbor at the Boston Tea Party was paid for. It also the Massachusetts government act which put British soldiers in charge of the colony it also made that if a soldier did a crime they could be moved back to Britain or any of the other colonies to be charged.
  • First Continental Congress

    First Continental Congress
The First Continental Congress was a very important meeting in the creation of the America we live in today. This is because it was the first meeting to discus declaring independence from England. This was a big step of the American Revolution.
  • Battles of Lexington and Concord Part 1

Battles of Lexington and Concord Part 1
The Battle of Lexington and Concord was the first battle of the revolutionary war. When it started there was already rumors of the Colonist were going to declare independence. In a attempt to stop it the British decided to try and attack the a Colonist armory. They first attack Lexington because the British heard that the Colonist had a armory in Lexington but there was no armory. So the British went onto Concord and were attacked by minutemen. And the British were defeated.
  • The Battle of Lexington and Concord Part 2

I also want to mention that the minutemen also fought the British at Lexington. Sadly the minutemen lost. The main reason they won at Concord was that they ambushed the British while they were crossing a bridge giving the minutemen a advantage. This was the official start of the Revolutionary War.
