    Alexander Graham Bell made the call possible by using electrical currents passing through poles that can harness that current.
  • The Lusitania sinks

    German U-boats sink the ship and 1,198 people die.
  • Theory of Relativity

    Albert Einstein creates this to determine that the laws of physics are the same for all non-accelerating observers, and he showed that the speed of light within a vacuum is the same no matter the speed at which an observer travels.
  • Millions of lives lost

    The Battles of Verdon and Somme claimed these lives due to Germany destroying French and British armies
  • Woodrow Wilson reeleced

    After the events leading up to the WWI, president Wilson is reelected to guide America through this wordly turmoil. The notion of 'He kept us out of war" gave Wilson popularity among the people and gave him an easy reelection.

    The first act mandating American military service since the Civil War. Called countless of soldiers to rise up and serve for their country bringing conflict between democrats and republians.
  • Russia Withdrawal

    Russia had to deal with their own civil war case involvingrebels attacking the Tsar of Russia.
  • Declration of War

    Wilson calls to congress for a declaration of war on Germany. Germany violated America's request to cease submarine warfare among their trade ships. Congress supports the presidents decision.
  • League of Nations

    First proposed by President Woodrow Wilson as part of his Fourteen Points plan for an equitable peace in Europe, the United States. It proved exceptionally difficult to create, and Wilson left office never having convinced the United States to join it.
  • Sedition Act is passed

    a piece of legislation designed to protect America’s participation in World War I. Aimed at socialists, pacifists and other anti-war activists, the Sedition Act imposed harsh penalties on anyone found guilty of making false statements that interfered with the prosecution of the war; insulting or abusing the U.S. government, the flag, the Constitution or the military; agitating against the production of necessary war materials; or advocating, teaching or defending any of these acts.
