    The first shout in lexington and concord we don't know how shout the first shout.We do know it was the first battle. The British won'e and the American don't won'e. The shout hrad a ronud the word.

    THE 2nd BATTLE
    On June 17, 1775 General Howe led 2600 British soldiers up Breed's Hill. British warships also fired on the patriots position. The Americans held off two British charges, but were finally forced to retreat on the third charge. The British suffered heavy losses with 226 men killed and 828 more wounded. The British gained control of Breed's Hill.

    Cowpens * Important battle in South Carolina. Showed the cooperation of the regular Continental Army and the irregular partisan forces. * The partisans led the attack and then fled the field, tricking the British regulars into thinking that the Americans were retreating. * Instead the partisans lured the British forces into range of the regular American army. The British were soundly defeated and retreated northward toward Virginia.

    The Battle of Yorktown marked the end of the Revolution. British General Cornwallis had violated an order from British Parliament by marching into Yorktown, Virginia and making it his base of operations. Britain had ordered him to attack the Maryland-Delaware peninsula and Philadelphia. Cornwallis' troops were pinned between the French navy and Washington's soldiers. He was forced to surrender, giving the American's their independence from England.
