Mark Zuckerberg created Facebook for Harvard students to keep in touch with other students on campus and to see who was in your classes. When Facebook first came about it was only for Harvard students to use. There wasn't much to do on it besides looking at other Harvard students profiles.

In 2005, Facebook started opening up to other schools. At this time, the pages were plain and there wasn't much you could do, but it was still a popular thing among college students.

This is when the feed came about. Feed as in news feed. It wasn't as big as it is now but it still showed you what other users where doing with they updated their status.

In 2006, the poke option can out. You could poke each other. People had poke wars and it was a way of flirting.

By February, anyone 13 years of age or older could have a Facebook account. It was now open to all, not just school students.

Facebook goes mobile. Anyone could download the app or get Facebook on a mobile device as long as the phone could get internet/ data.

The Real-Time News Feed came out. The first impression of it was that it was to much like Twitter and everyone hated it.

In 2010, Facebook had users from all over the world. Facebook went from being only in the Harvard School to being a very popular, world-wide used page.

2011, Facebook launched a whole new design. Now, Facebook was about showing what you wanted to show such as, things you shared or status updates, and less about your relationship status and age. They focused more on what you like rather then your personal information.

Facebook bought the popular, picture sharing app, Instagram.

Facebook came out with actions and feeling.

Facebook added the Year in Review video. It takes all the important moments you shared on Facebook and puts it into a video.

Facebook added reactions. You can now react to peoples status updates or their photos.

Facebook is still a popular, social media tool used by all ages! They will be having their 14th birthday on February 4, 2017.
