    The first personal computer was advertised in 1971. The Kenbak-1 was released for $750. It was designed by John V. Blankenbaker. It had input switches and lights for output from the 236-byte memory.
  • The Apple-I

    The Apple-I
    The Apple-I was designed by Steve Wonziak. It was a single board computer that was for hobbyist. 50 copies were assembled for an order from mountain View, California computer store. Before Apple released Apple-II, the follow on, 200 of the Apple-I's were sold.
  • Broderbund

    Broderbund
    In 1980 the Broderbund was founded. It was founded by Doug and Gary Carlston. They created the company to fundgames that doug created. examples of these games are Galactic Empire, Myst, and Riven. This led to a print shop, and language tutors.
  • The Thinking Machine Corporation

    The Thinking Machine Corporation
    TMC or Thinking Machine Corporation was founded by MIT graduate student Danny Hillis. They thought of using a lot of individual processors compared to using one extremely powerful processor. the Connection Machine was their first machine. In 1986 they began shipping. They went bankrupt in 1993.

    Video Toaster
    NewTek released Video Toaster. VideoToaster is a video editing and production system. The system was for the Amiga line of computers which also included custom hardware and special software. It was a lot more affordable compared to other systems. Video Toaster was very popular that it was used on the television show Home improvement.

    "Terminator: Judgement Day 2"
    The very popular movie "Terminator: Judgement Day 2" opened in 1992. James Cameron directed the sequal to his hit "Terminator" from 1984. It fetured special effects done by Industrial Light & Magic. At the time the movie was the most expensive movie made with a record of $100 million.

    In September 2010 the IPod 4th generation was released. It was released at $199. It was the first IPod with a front and rear-facing camera. The white verison came out in 2011. This Ipod was important to me because it was the first tech object I bought with my own money.

    Instagram
    Instagram was launched in October of 2010. Kevin Systram and Mike Krieger released a photo sharing app that took over the world. The app was avalible for the IPhone, Andriod, and Windows Phone platforms. It is significant to me because it is one of the only apps I use. I enjoy sharing my posts and videos to friends, and i like seeing theirs too.
