Iron age Fort
Iron age forts are the fist type of castles to be made. they are sites made out of Earth, stones and wood made into a wall.They normally have a ditch around them. These castles were not that strong and that is why people made another type of castle. -

Motte and bailey
Motte and bailey castles were built out of wood, and half of the castle was on top of the hill. It had a big ditch around the sides so enemies couldnt get through. It also had water around the edges. The wood could easily get burnt so they thoght that they neede another type of castle and the wood was also around the edges of the castle. -

Stone keep castles
Stone keep castles were made out of stong stone so it would be hard to get the castle knocked down. On the out side of the castle there was a river going around so enemies couldnt get in. Some enemies got big boulders and knocked the castles down so they needed to make a brand new castle that was alot stonger. -

concentric castles
Concentric castles were very strong because they had three different type of walls. It also had a river around it. People thought when it was getting close to the date now they neede a easy model so people canlive in. -

Fortfield Manor houses
Fortfield manor houses are now like the old fashion houses. They had the same style of our houses now and were very strong in the 1499 and you had to be rich to get those houses. They kept these castles/houses for a long time.
