    100,000,000 displaced or forced into refugee camps because of the war. Also the acts of genocide led by the Janjaweed killing hundreds.

    Though technically rebel groups had already been attacking police stations, military convoys, and other armed forces the Conflict did not OFFICALY start until February 26, 2003 with a rebel group calling themselves the DLF (Darfur Liberation Front)claimed to cause the attack on Golo a military base in the Marrah mountains which only begun the years of fighting.

    One of the Biggest Blunders of the new Sudanese government and a turning point for the Darfur War was the Al-Fashir Raid. A raid on the military base in Al-Fashir which was a joint attack by the DLF and the JEM (the justice and equality movement) which in the raid According to the sudan government four Antonov bombers (seven according to the rebels) were destroyed 75 sudanese soldier were killed and 32 were captured including the leader a Major general.

    After the Al-Fashir raid and the humiliation of the Sudanese army the Arab population of Gruella fighters formed a group known as the Janjaweed a terrorizing militia group that slaughtered, raped and burned villagers and villages killing many innocent lives and forcing many more to leave their homes in search of refuge.

    After almost three years of war the Sudanese government and the JEM plus the SLM/A called on the cease fire to help civilians in the country though more rebel groups will be made and the cease fire will be destroyed it was a time to get civilians to safety and even out of the country thought attacks still continued despite the agreement.

    Darfur RefugeesThough a cease fire was signed between the Rebels JEM and SLA/M and the Sudanese Army the genocide continued as the Janjaweed now unopposed brought onslaught on Darfur killing, raping, and robbing hundreds of black Sudanese by now the problem in Darfur had been compared to the Rwandan Genocide though the Sudanese government denied the fact that it had become a genocide.

    Minni Minnawi makes agreement with rebels
    On May 5 a delegate from the Sudanese government by the name Minni Minnawi made an agreement with a rebel group the SLA to stop the genocide though two other groups rejected the treaty (one including the JEM) the focus of the treaty was to disarm the Janjaweed and have ALL rebel groups disband and move into the Sudanese Army. This Agreement caught the attention of the U.S. namely the president George W. Bush who helped Orchestrate the agreement.

    Yet again in 2007 the Sudanese government proposed a cease fire between the Army and All rebel groups for sixty days to help improve humanitarian conditions and maybe help those trying to escape this however did not go so well even though a cease fire was in place many peace keepers from the Arfican Union (AU) wer targeted and killed another move against the cease fire was in march when the Janjaweed killed over 400 civilians.

    War Crime Charges Placed
    Humanitarian speaks on behalf of Amhed Two men have been officially charged with over 51 counts of war crimes one is the humanitarian official for the Sudanese government Ahmed Haroun who despite all of the destruction he has caused does not “feel” guilty and says he does not deserve any of his charges. The other is a Janjaweed general by the name Ali Kushayb which his charges are quite obvious.

    After the many years of fighting in 2010 a new peace agreement was made between Sudan and the rebels which the JEM had grown to a massive size over the year though it wouldn’t be until 2011 that an official document was made peace was finally starting in Sudan. The agreement in itself came with a 300,000,000 dollar pay to the rebels the Sudan government agreed to the terms and have been starting to rebuild from the humanitarian crisis.
