  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War
    This war was between French and Britain ended with a win for the British but they were deply in debt and demanding money from the Colonies. The colonist were grateful because they didn't have to rely on Britians help for protection.
  • Treaty of 1763

    Treaty of 1763
    Treaty ended the French and Indian war. The British Gained control over the area west of 13 colonies. Colonist did not like the British gaining all that area.
  • Pontiac's Rebellion

    Pontiac's Rebellion
    It was fought between 1763 and 1763. The native Americans rise up against the British. The colonists did not like this because they thought the King was siding with the Indians by making colonist pay a tax.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    It did not allow any settlement beyond the Appalachian Mountains. The colonist once again did not like this. They felt Britian was trying to control them.
  • Currency Act

    Parliament argued that colonial currency had caused a devaluation harmful to the British trade.They banned American assemblies from issuing papar bills or bills of credit.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    Put a three cent tax on foreign refined sugar increased taxes on coffee, and certain wines. The colonist were upset. They had their taxes raised without their consent. This was brewing point.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    First direct tax on the Ameriean colonists by the British. The colonists had not paid this and didn't feet they should. They used force and did demonstrations. The stamp Act gave colonists a target for their anger.
  • Declaratory Act.

    Declaratory Act.
    British repealed the stamp act. It stated that Britian was the boss of the American Colonies. This out raged the colonists.
  • Townshend Acts

    This act produced a series of taxes that replaced the Stamp Act. These taxes were imposed to help make the colonial officals independent of the colonists and included duties in glass, paper,and tea. The colonists responded with violent protests.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    Five Americanns were short by British troops on March 5, 1770. The colonists they trow rocks and stones at the British. This event deepended the mistrust of the British.
  • Tea Act

    This act gave all the sales of tea to the East India Coompany. Colonists could not buy any tea unless it came from this company. The colonists response was that they were not going to unload any ships with tea on them. This led to the Boston Tea Party.
  • First Continental Congress

    Twelve of the thirteen colonies met in Philadelphiawas because of the Intolerable Acts. The creation of The Association which called for the stoppage of British goods. The colonists wanted to make the decisions.
