    British regulars were marching towards the lexington area to withdraw all stolen weapons. The minutemen were waiting for them, someone fired the first shot and it became known as the ''shot heard 'round the world''. The Americans made the British retreat back to boston.

  • Capture of Ft. Ticonderoga

    Capture of Ft. Ticonderoga
    Ethan Allen and Benedict Arnold (Americans) captured the fort and used the cannons and guns to defend Boston at Bunker Hill. The point of no return for the Americans, the war is on.

    This pettition was sent to the king to try and come to agreement so this war could be stopped and no more casualties had to happen to iether side.

    The Americans defend the major hills outside of Boston and prepare for British attack. The British win but suffer 1000 casualties but the Americans only lose 400. "only shoot when you can see the whites of their eyes!"

    George Washington needed to prove he was still the man for the job, he invaded the Hessians camp right after Christmas. This gave hope to the Americans because the Hessians were the gratest soldiers at the time.

    The battles of saratoga lasted 18 days, this was a huge turning point in the war. The Britsh recieved a small victory, although they encountered heavy damage to their forces. This convinced the French the Americans are worth fighting for.
