    A riot by students who are against the fall of the military government -> resulting in free elections but the new government lacks stability
  • Military Gains Power

  • General Prem Tinsulanonda gains power

  • Tinsulanonda gives up his military power

    General Prem Tinsulanonda gives up his military power and instead heads a civilian government
  • General Prem Tinsulanonda is re-ellected

  • Tinsulanonda is replaced

    General Prem Tinsulanonda is replaced by General Chatichai Choonhaven
  • Military coup and Anand becomes prime minister

    There is another military coup (the 17th since 1932) -> resulting in Anand (a civilian) becoming prime minister
  • Changing of power

    March Elections -> resulting in Anand being replaced with General Suchinda Kraprayoon, but there are demonstrations against General Suchinda Kraprayoon -> therefore Anand is temporarily re-instated until September when Chuan Leekpai (Democratic Party leader) is elected as prime minister
  • Collapse of the Government

    The government collapses -> resulting in Banharn Silpa-archa (a member of the Thai Nation party) to be elected prime minister
  • Silpa-archa steps down

    Banharn Silpa-archa voluntarily steps down because he has been accused with corruption -> resulting in Chavalit Yongchaiyudh ( a member of the New Aspiration party) to win the election
