after the fredonian rebellion the mexican goverment sent general Manuel Mier Teran a well respected commander to go and investigate what was happening [He made it clear mexico needs to get in control of texas. -
The law april 6, 1830
Almost all mier y teran recommendations were adopted in a series of laws passed on april 6, 1830 under persidant anastasio Bustamate. The Law explicitly Banned any further immigration from the united states to Texas and any new slaves. -

On june 13, 1832, a group of anglo-americans settlers adopted a resolution called the turtle bayou rsolution .This stated that they were not rebelling.They declared that they were supporting santa anna who was a very popular leader trying to overthrow anastnsio bustamante. -
