    Stephen F. Austin is considered the founder of Anglo-American Texas. When he was twenty one he was elected territorial legislature of Missouri from 1813-1819.

    The mexican government imprisons Stephen F. Austin in Mexico City. Stephen F. Austin was going to present the new constitution to the government in mexico. Santa anna refused to grant Texas seperate status so he threw Austin in jail. He was released eight months later
