    Fort Ticonderoga was on the other side of lake Champlain. This was where militiamen and there leaders Ethan Allen and Benedict Arnold. These d militia men then crossed the lake and attacked the British soldiers while they were sleeping in fort Ticonderoga.     Under the forces of Colonel Benedict Arnold and General Richard Montgomery. They wanted to take control of the British territory of the City Quebec and the support of the American cause in Canada.This attack failed and General Richard Montgomery had lost his life.     George Washington and his army crossed the Delaware on Christmas Day. As they preceded an December 26th they defeated the British in Trenton.     General Sir William Howe and General Charles Cornwallis led a British attack on General George Washington. Cornwallis and Howe had there 18,000 troops split into two groups. Cornwallis lead one group from the right Flank and Howe Lead one to the Front.The British had cover to make a surprise attack on Washington. The Americans were surrounded and outnumbered 18,000 troops to 11,000 Continentals. Washington had then ordered his men to retreat there post.(“the Battle of Brandywine Begins”)

    John Burgoyne led his 5,000 surviving troops into Saratoga. On October 13th, there were 20,000 Americans that had them surrounded. This had Burgoyne Stand down and surrender. This was the first time that Britain had to stand down on a large scale in the Revolutionary war.(“Americans Win More than a Battle at Saratoga.”)

    Major Patrick Ferguson and his Tory’s force that is has mostly American Loyalist that are mostly from South Carolina. This force was the western wing of the North Carolina Invasion force led by General Lord Cornwallis. 1,000 of American frontiersmen took the backcountry to avoid Ferguson’s attack. Ferguson positioned his force while the Patriots pursed them in a rocky place called kings mountain.(Battle of King’s Mountain.)

    The American Troops were led by General Daniel Morgan, and the British Troops were led by Lieutenant Colonel Banastre Tarleton. In the middle of the battle Morgan told his troops to fight with the British but to leave there front line after they fire 2 rounds. This confused Tarleton and he ran his troops into an unexpected rifle fire. Tarleton got away but pretty much his whole army was dead by the end of this attack.(“Battle of Cowpens.”)

    General Lord Charles Cornwallis and his army had to surrender to George Washington was a great mark in history. That battle was the last major battle of the American Revolution. That was the start of Americas free independence from Britain.
