BROWN VS BOARD OF EDUCATION
This was a key point because schools were desegregated allowing for both races to be schooled together. The term separate but equal no longer exists and all students have an opportunity at an equal schooling. -
MATH AND SCIENCE CURRICULUM PUSH
This was a key point that was influenced by the launching of a rocket by the Soviets which caused there to be a budget increase to the math and science curriculum to help better students knowledge of the subjects. This was to help ensure that our country would not fall behind other countries in these curricula. -
A NATION AT RISK
This was key because it gave educational benefits such as accountability and educational rigor through standardized testing, there was implementation of competency tests that students must pass in order to graduate high school. -
NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND ACT
This was key because it was a law that ensured that all students learned and their test scores were not averaged out by other students scores. This impacted the increase of education of low income students, minority students, English language learners, and students with disabilities.
