  • USB Flash Drives

    USB Flash Drives
The first USB flash drive to be commercially-available was the ThumbDrive, and it was produced by Trek Technology in Singapore. It replaced floppy drives and optical discs; however, at first it only had 256 megabytes of storage. The USB flash drive inspired people with the ability to have their personal storage on a portable device that can go anywhere.
  • The iPod

    The iPod
The iPod was the gadget created by Apple that eventually lead to the creation of the iPhone and iPad. It has 5GB of storage, a tiny two inch screen, and a scroll wheel with four buttons for controls. The iPod is now overlooked by many in preference of an iPhone or iPad, but without the iPod, these would not have been created. The iPod has lead to the creation of devices used all around the world for communication and enjoyment.
  • Blackberry

    Blackberry
The Blackberry helped define the whole smartphone genre. You could receive email, manage your calendar, and say on top of any other business you had, right where you were at. The Blackberry stoked the marketplace that Apple and Google came to dominate later with iPhones and Androids.
  • Kindle

    Kindle
The Kindle was created by Amazon in November 2007, and the first version of it sold out in five hours. The device was not back in stock until late April 2008. It was a simple device that inspired entertainment-focused tablets that followed, including Amazon's Kindle Fire line.
  • iPhone

    iPhone
The first iPhone was released at $499 for 4GB and $599 for 8GB, which is very crazy compared to the price and GB of the latest iPhones. It included a 2-megapixel camera and sold over 30 million units. The inspiration and reaction to this creation showed that people did not just want a smarter phone, instead they wanted a computer in their pocket.
